    Scag v-ride

I am planning on getting another scag zero turn this year, possibly the new v-ride. I was just wondering if anyone has seen or demoed one yet? and their opinions

Have you used a stand on before? It's the only commercial mower I've ever used, so I don't have much comparison to other stuff. I like it a lot. They definitely have their place in any fleet.

personal opinion here ...... the scag v-ride is scags attempt to jump on the band wagon...... I looked it over and it's not impressive . It's far to long and heavy to actually benifit the customer . Due to its overall size i would suggest a unit you can sit on ...most riders are close to the same size on the trailer. go with a different brand unit and it makes sense.

I just looked closer at the Scag and eXtreme is right. If you're gonna go with a stand on, get a Stander. The thing that stuck out to me was the width. With a 36" deck, the Stander is only 36.5" wide and I can personally attest that it will fit through a 36" gate. The scag is 47" wide with the same deck. The wright is also over a foot shorter. I also think all the other stand ons look like they put you up really high, causing the center of gravity to rise. The engine is also mounted higher. At least drive both before you buy on a hill if you can. There's a reason Wright is the king of stand ons

I went to the expo last yr and drove the scag, wright, great dane, toro, and john deere, standers my take is the the scag platform that you stan on is way too high as is the toro, the scag is a long heavy machine, the toro way too light could'nt see going up hill on one of those, the great dane, junk (sorry) the wright and John deere were the best and I thought the JD had the best over all performance.

The width is only 37.25" with the chute up. still to wide for a 36" gate. I guess they all are trying to catch up with the Stander sales. Don`t see that many here, myself I like the Sentar better, you get tired of standing at least you can sit down on large lawns. The state highway department is using them here, first time I saw one I couldn't figure out why the guy looked strange riding it until I saw him sitting when he passed me. I tell you one thing they beat the hell out of their equipment, that thing looked 20 years old, faded paint and rust oil and grease stains and it sounded like a bearing was going on the mower deck. Huh are tax dollars at work.......

I'm not a fan of the Great Dane Surfers either but you do realize that the John Deere is nothing more than a green painted Great Dane Surfer with a 7 Iron deck.

Wright Mfg, the maker of the Stander is the only company with the patents to build a machine that looks like that. That's why the SCAG, the Toro, and even the Ferris look a bit different

I personally like the Great dane super surfer/ Everide Scorpion, same machines both built (assembled) in Nebraska.

I agree with mower_man42 above, we run nine Sentar 52" or 61" machines and love them. We are able to use the Sentar like a Stander (stand on mower) when on small 1/4 acre lawns and can use it on the 1 and 2 acre lawns we cut, it is really nice to sit down on those long straight runs! I just bought 3 new Wright Sentars in the past three weeks, these machines are faster with bigger hydro pumps and wheel motors and they have upgraded the seat since our last Sentar purchase 4 years ago.
The extra money for the Sentar is worth it in my opinion but I see many guys that are happy standing on the Stander, it saves them some money in the upfront cost but these machines are still running strong after 4 years and looks like it will keep going as long as I maintain it!!
I test drove the Scag and Toro Stand-on mowers but they did compare to the Sentar, I couldn't be happier with the machines we have.
